In Literacy at the moment, we are looking at reports. Your task this week is to explore different types of reports (e.g. newspaper, magazine, weather, history). Compare these reports, looking at the features of each and present your results in a creative way.

For example, you may choose to compare a weather report and a newspaper article. You could then identify the similar features and then the differences between the two reports.

Numeracy homework due 24/04/13

Numeracy

We will be introducing our new targets in Numeracy this week. Your task is to create a game that will help you to understand and practice your Numeracy group target. Make it as creative as possible. We may be using these games as part of a lesson so try and make your game age appropriate and think about important features, like the amount of players, equipment, rules and instructions.

These are the group targets:

Engineers: To order numbers up to 50

Architects: To solve subtraction problems

Bankers: To solve multiplications problems

Accountants: To solve addition and subtraction problems involving 2 digit numbers.

Next term, our new IPC topic will be ‘Celebrations’. We will be learning about celebrations that are important to our families, our friends and people all over the world. Your task over the Easter holidays is to research and collect together any experiences of celebrations that you and your family have taken part in over your lives, e.g. birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, religious festivals or local events like the Olympic torch parade in Croydon. You may wish to collect some visual information about these celebrations, such as photographs, cards and invitations and you could talk to a family member, e.g. Grandparents / Parents about their memories of celebrations. Present your research in a creative way, for example as a timeline, a collage, a video, or you could draw the different memories.
